2 nights of live electronic music performances

In100Copies Music Worx, two nights of live electronic music performances, six artists present new experiments with sound, rhythm and noise. Each artist attempts to probe a new interpretation for audible or muffled sounds through repeation, tension, cohesion or resonance. Inspired by everyday ambient sound, different audio-visual experiences, fluctuating emotions or abstract visions; the artists’ performances propose an outlook for beat explorations, juxtaposed rythematic patterns, digitalic acoustics or composed pitch and echo.
Whether through cacophonous or harmonic tracks, artworks presented explore altered schemes of music. Some examine the audio effect of sounds as it resembles movements of the mental operations or relate to the verbal text, while other pieces explore the dialogue between sound, emotion, repetition and narrative through improvising with old compositions or remixing improvised samples. Other soundtracks vary from being sonic, hollow, frictional, disturbed, linear, with a domestic sound quality or inspired by mass media,arab sat,t.v,radio & tape.

ahmed basyoni [copia & the verbal is kohli]
Copia: live sound performance for 20 minutes, mixture of the handled digitalic sounds, For it an audio effect becomes similar with the movements of the mental operations.
The verbal is Kohli: live sound performance for 20 minutes, "The verbal is Kohli" is Audio Visual relation around the verbal text, The sound presents interactively in a mixture with digital sounds, while the Video image is related experimentally to the content of the listening to the text.
Basyoni is a multimedia artist, Born in Cairo "1978", Graduated from the art education faculty, Helwan university "2000", Holds an MA in philosophy of art education , He cares for the contemporary media arts, Where he cares for fields (The Video art, Sound art, and Interactive art).

maurice louca [passage 35]
Maurice Louca was born in Cairo in 1982. He lives and works in Cairo as a musician. Maurice co-founded and is part of the band Bikya. He has composed and preformed live the original sound track for Sherif el Azma's Video/Lecture, Psycho Geography of Loose Associations, part of Meeting Points 5 . He also produced a track for Tut 20's compilation CD. As well as Ahmed El Attar's CD Electro Egypt. He has also worked recording sound for films.

kareem lotfy [dirty zeyda] CD RELEASE
Kareem was born in cairo in 1985,studied painting for sometime in fine arts alexandria , now studying graphic design and visual communication in the GUC.most of my previous work was visual.
dirty zeyda is a condensation of alot of samples and materials i'v been collecting and building over the past few years,mainly driven from mass media,arab sat,t.v,radio,tapes. some are recorded by laptop,some recorded by a very primitive tape recorder,to have a domestic sound quality and varying frequencies at the end.

coin gutter [pigeonless revisited]
coin gutter is an 8 year collaboration between graeme scott and emma Hendrix that explores the dialogue between sound, emotion, repetition and narrative. Coin gutter are recyclers of their own work, improvising with samples taken from their own compositions, remixing with improvised samples to compose new work. They have just released their 8th recording, Pigeonless.

kareem kenawy [Sutures]
Kareem Kenawy (b. 1988) had been experimenting with digital and
acoustic instruments since 2002. Mostly releasing random mp3s around
the web varying in style and tone.

Involved in the field of multimedia since 2000. On a Mastery in digital arts, Helwan University. Contemporary art workshops, Collage of art education from 2000 to 2007.
